Taking Instagram to the next level

Hey everyone I'm finally back from Singapore and semester 2 has started a week ago. Yeap. This time I will not going to post about my Singapore trip cause one, I want to spent more of my me time, two, My so-called photographer is not available. She's busy doing her internship (My sister). Three, making myself at home like helping my aunt cooking, do laundry, groceries shopping, cycling in the park and etc. However, you guys can check out on my Instagram for some of my updates!

Speaking of Instagram, you all know that Instagram is the place where I find inspirations and motivations also the only active social media platform. Frankly speaking, I’m addicted to Instagram. Well, kind of. I’m not sure have you all aware that most of your popular instagrammers have consistent types of photos which they called theme/feed? Yeah, that really makes your Instagram account way cooler and hell yeah, I want it too. I want to have to feed as nice as theirs! Not to forget good quality pictures.

Here comes the boyfriend commenting me: “Why like to go Instagram show off? Why always like to follow people how they post? When people like your post happy la you…” I was like errr… That is not my purpose dude. For me, if they can produce such standard why can’t I? It’s more of ACHIEVING something and accomplishment. Every day we have goals to reach in our life. Same as goes to this. Even though is not something major but these are the little goals which keeps you feeling positive and motivated.

For now I'm trying to create a feed on Instagram. Well, I have to tell you, IT IS NOT easy to maintain. For example, like if you want to take picture of the places or cafes you went to, you know that all cafes have different themes. Some more to woody theme, some more to white space. Then how to maintain your feed if your feed are more to white space? Anyway, you get the idea what I’m trying to say. Conclusion, planning is important and taking extra length to shoot nice pic. I will work on that and achieve what I wanted. That's all for now. :D

Pinterest & Instagram Inspired Calendar

On a typical Thursday afternoon as I was searching and scrolling for calendar ideas on Pinterest , one of the post caught my eye. At that moment immediately I said to myself I want to do this! Its so pretty. That night, I called my boyfriend and Nicole to ask them how to cause initially I plan to do it in indesign. Thanks to both of them for their suggestion, I use illustrator to make this calendar.

Calendar ideas I found on Pinterest
Basically it took me 2 days to complete this due to some pictures problem that I can't import into illustrator. Finally I solved the problem yesterday and now it's done.

Arranging the final work

Kinda proud of myself that I can make this calendar with only basic knowledge of illustrator through self learning.

Favorite Apps

Hey there! How's life treating you? Can't believe its beginning of July and I'm on my 3rd week of winter semester. Taking a little bit of time to blog before finals is coming. This time I'm going share what is my favourite apps. Yeah, since I got my iphone 6, literally a happy girl and excited cause selfie and foodporn mood is back on track. Then came the thought of why not I do a favourite apps post. So here it is! Hope that this post will somehow helps you in finding the right app :D

First of all, this is what I have in my iPhone:

Err... sorry. Not much of a game person.

Apps that I can't live without:
WhatsApp
Thank god Whatsapp exist! In my opinion, Whatsapp is much stable than Line and other similar apps. With Line, very often that I received text notifications but once to open the app the messages is not there. It took few minutes to load. Its been almost like 2 years I didn't use Line. So I'm not sure did the developer fix the problem. Although, there is one app I found it stable is Telegram.

Instagram

This is the social networking app that I'm most active on. Not facebook nor twitter. This is where I get my info for food hunt places. One of the best places to share the artistic side of your photos and get inspired from others.
Favourite apps:
Waze
Waze is such an amazing app that I found its better than Maps itself or even Google Maps. The good thing about this app is that you can report traffic conditions or accidents happen, police checking, speed trap and etc. The apps itself will also freeze your search when it detect your car is moving. Thumbs up to the developer for considering the safety of the drivers (us).

Pinterest
Pinterest!!!! Love this app to the max. This is the best place to find ideas and inspirations in EVERYTHING you can think of. From architecture to art to car and motorcycles to design to technology and etc.

Dropbox
The best place to store your files online and access wherever you are. Normally, I use it to backup my photos from my iphone because I feel that dropbox kinda sync faster than Google drive. In Google drive, I only store study related files like my lecture notes and assignments. Last time I used to store everything in dropbox. As you know, our life lives by and your picture getting more and more it kind of taking up all my spaces in dropbox. That is why I decided to use Google drive just to store my documents and stuff. Both works perfectly but I still prefer dropbox.

Spotify
My Favourite platform to discover new musics and artist. Don't you bored with local stations keep playing the same old thing?  Spotify has a lot of indie songs which currency I'm in love with this genre.

Top favourite PHOTOGRAPHY apps:

Camera
In taking picture, it is best to stick with the build-in camera in your phone cause the quality is better than using other photography app. This tip I read it in some article which I find it kinda true. After that, use any other photo editing app to edit the picture or filter it.

PhotoWonder
PhotoWonder has a very nice filter which I like it very much. Some more it can take picture with the built in filters. Normally I use it for taking selfie.

It came with a beautify function too! :D

Top favourite photography editing apps:
VSCOcam
I started to use this app recently after I got my iPhone 6. I got to say this is an essential app for photography. You can forget the rest cause the app pretty much can do anything with it and of course there are some filters are require to buy but I think the free filters are good enough. Normally, I stick to contrast, brighten and adjusting highlight.

Some of the basic filters

Fuzel Collage
Since this app available on the app store, this is my favourite app to do photo collage and animations.

These are the types of collage ranging from simple to animated to free form and it comes with a different layout which I pay to unlock all of it.

Beautiful fonts!

Frames...

Stickers....

and also you can play the Fuzel challenge to earn some credits

Aviary
Aviary is pretty much no different with the other editing app, but the filters are quite awesome!

Whitagram

This is the app that I always use to upload portrait and landscape photos onto instagram.

Squaready

I use squareready just because of the blur background feature in this app. Haha. Normally I stick to whitagram.

That's sum up how I edit my pictures. Play with filters, brightness and contrast that will do. :)

Mid-term Getaway & Moodbook

Okay, lets start from my short getaway to KL. Actually before the week of so called mid-term break which doesn't apply to us engineers, I decided to flew myself to KL for some personal reason that I can't talk about it and to see my friends and the boyfie. As usual, went for shopping and indulging myself with FOOD.

Last haul before hopping up to the plane.

After I came back from KL, the whole mid-term break I was busy with assignments especially on my electives units which really really time consuming for the moodbook and postcard assignment. Basically, in this Design Studio unit I learned how to use Photoshop, In-design and Illustrator all by myself and a little help and tips from my beloved classmate and the boyfriend just to arrange my layout and cropping it. Learning these three software is not easy and also when you're not familiar with it, it does takes time to get it all done. So, design units is easy? No.

Most engineers taking electives in design they don't really care bout it because to them they just wanted to pass and there is no final to it and to some of my friends they thought that design is easy la.. just a piece of cake. Telling me that I'm an engineering student and indirectly say that I shouldn't busy with design. Well, if elective units are not require to pass. Why bother enrol and wasting my time doing my elective instead using my precious time to complete my engineering units? Speaking back of easy, try do it my way and see how long does it takes you to complete the whole moodbook plus the postcards.

Once done, have to get approval from the lecture. Eventually there are some layouts that I need to change. Again, time to proceed to the next stage have delayed. Second time consulting the lecture, all layouts have been approved by my lecture. Yay! Then I'm good to go for printing my arranged layout for a later stage which is the main point of this unit: CUT AND PASTE.

Here I am thinking that cut and paste is easy and having the thought of I can complete my Moodbook few days ealy, you're wrong. It took me another week to complete it plus another 4 postcard collage I have to do and they have to be related either by themes or shapes.
